Shopping on the day after thanksgiving is like a symphony of parts. You need to read through all the adverts, compare prices from one store to another and then the real work begins.

We all know that stores have limited amounts of the big sellers, or maybe they just have limited amounts of them that they are willing to sell at such a discounted price (that is another story), so you need to get there early. When we say early in relation to the day after thanksgiving sales we mean anywhere from 3am onwards.

So you get up early and spend an hour or two in the cold lining up then find that they have only got 2 of the must have items in the store and you are number 25 in line, what can you do?

Well you can go to another store, the trading has been so poor in 2009 that the big box retailers are far more flexible than they ever have been before with prices. If you can show that one store is selling an item at a certain price, and the 2nd store has them in stock, then you may just be in luck and get the same deal.

One other thing you can do is go back to bed and wait for the next sale. I know this sounds like a radical idea when we are talking about black Friday sales. While the sales in December may not be quite the same as they are on Black Friday they are still going to be good and they won’t need you to wake before the sun is up to get the advertised price.
