Do apple stores do discounts?
I’m looking to buy a new aluminium macbook 2.4ghz in uk. I was hoping to buy in a store so I open it there and then to check for defects and perhaps get a new one on the spot if there was any defects, as I know many people complain about loose battery hinges.
Just wanted to know if I walked into an apple store if they do student discount just like online and what kind of id do I need with me? Also does anybody know if it’s traditional that apple have new year sales on macbooks or accessories? And I heard you can’t have an extended applecare warranty over the already brought 3 years, so what happens if your laptop breaks after the 3 years is over?

Yes. Apple does offer a student discount and you need your school id to get it. I have never known apple to have a new years sales event. As far as the extended warranty, you should ask someone at Apple whether or not you’re eligible and if not, that just means that you have to handle any damages on your own.
